CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat Interim Executive Director Dr. Hendra Yusran Siry (right) paid a courtesy visit to Timor-Leste Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Alberto Xavier Pereira Carlos (center), on 21 March 2019. Joining Dr. Siry was CTI-CFF RS Executive Officer Asa Silalahi.

Timor-Leste has been actively supportive of Indonesia's efforts to eliminate IUU fishing and has established cooperation with Indonesia in fisheries and marine management.

Dr. Siry acknowledged the importance of Norway's role in advocating the conservation of natural resources and shared CTI-CFF's efforts to foster regional and international cooperation to protect coral reefs and fisheries.

Manila, Philippines, 4 April 2019 – The CTI-CFF conveyed its commitment to collaborate with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of Western Pacific (WESTPAC) towards the realization of the UN Decade of Ocean Science (2021-2030) during the 12th Intergovernmental Session of the IOC Sub-commission for WESTPAC held in Manila, Philippines, from 2–5 April 2019.

We at the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the families and colleagues of the victims of the mass shootings at Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque during Friday prayers in Christchurch, New Zealand. In particular, our sympathies go to the Governments of Indonesia and Malaysia, as member parties of the CTI-CFF.

We pray for strength for the families and colleagues of the victims during this difficult time. We stand in love and solidarity with you all.
